My mother and mother-in-law <3 |
This week was a total blast. My mother-in-law flew in on Monday the 19th because she bought my husbands truck. This gave her a good excuse to see Alaska and meet my family. She also got a sweet truck out of it, which she drove down. We did a lot for the days she was here (for example took her frolfing for her first time, took her to the beach where we got married, showed her Flat Top, showed her Elemendorf AFB, introduced her to filipino food my family made, and she even got a new tattoo). We had 3 full days with her and then she was off to Oregon on her own. She made a sweet bed in the back of her new truck, which meant she can sleep anywhere and not worry about setting up a tent or spending buckos on a hotel. It was awesome having her here and we definitely miss her presence. My family absolutely loved her. I am very thankful that I not only snagged myself a great husband, but a rad mother in law. I am glad the mothers got along great! Couldn't ask for more. One day, she will move here, we hope. We are awaiting her phone call which will let us know she made it passed the Canadian Border and into WA.

Sean & Nicolette's first dance |
Moving on, this weekend was a lot of fun. Cory and I drove to Homer for Sean & Nicolette's wedding reception. They had their wedding back in May and they wanted to have their wedding secret from friends and family. Being that we were new friends to them, they asked me if I would take their photos and Cory marry them. We agreed and it was just the four of us off of the McHugh Creek Trail. I am so happy for them and honored we got to wed them. The wedding reception was in a log cabin looking bar with a small dance floor that filled up with people getting their groove on. There were 32' screens scattered among the walls that had a slideshow of the pictures I took. I thought that was way awesome. We had a little too much to drink, but it was all fun. The hangover was worth it. Cory even made a little speech for them, which was very unlike him! I was proud of him for doing that. Anyways, we danced the night away and it was just great meeting Nicolette's family & friends. Cory and I walked in knowing we wouldn't know anyone, but we fit in perfectly. Must be because we got credit for marrying them and people acknowledged that. Nicolette and I work together for the school district and she is just a wonderful person. Sean is a lucky man. I wish them the best in their married life.
